Spine Care Program
Why Spine Care is Important
Your spine is one of the most important parts of your body. It gives your body structure and support, and allows you to move about freely and to bend with flexibility. Your spine is also designed to protect your spinal cord, a column of nerves that connects your brain with the rest of your body. Without a spinal cord, you could not move any part of your body and your organs could not function. This is the reason why keeping your spine healthy is vital if you want to live an active life. It’s very important to take care of your spine’s health and to understand its role in your overall well-being.
Spinal problems have over one cause, but a few things can increase your chances of experiencing them. Some predisposing factors for spinal problems are: poor biomechanics, poor mobility in the muscles around the spine, poor posture, muscle weakness and imbalance, and a sedentary lifestyle.
These factors do not just cause whole back soft tissue injuries – local muscle pain, stiffness, and tightness – but also can cause about 330 different health problems if spinal cord nerve disorders are involved in soft tissue injuries around the spinal cord.

For example:
- Cervical spine nerve disorders can cause: headaches, migraine headaches, dizziness, vertigo, tinnitus, sinusitis, dry eyes or weak vision, anxiety, depression, insomnia, poor memory, facial muscle tremors, trigeminal nerve pain, etc.
- Thoracic spine nerve disorders can cause: allergic sinusitis, asthma, acid reflux, breast aches, chest pain, heart disease, lung disease, IBS, chronic constipation or diarrhea, poor digestion, diabetes, tingling and numbness in the shoulders, arms, elbows, and hands, etc.
- Lumber spine nerve disorders can cause: frequent urination or urinary incontinence, chronic constipation or diarrhea, IBS, prostate enlargement, urinary retention, reproductive disease like infertility, poor sexual drive, impotence, pelvic disease like endometriosis, fibrosis, cysts, and pain in the lower back, buttocks, legs, knees, ankles, and heels.

We use acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, TDP, and other modalities to help maintain the health of your spine. Our treatments help to loosen up tight soft tissues (muscles, fascia, tendons) and re-balance biomechanical tension by removing abnormal scar tissue, promoting blood flow, diminishing potential inflammation and trigger points, preventing and correcting spinal nerve disorders.
